Business as usual

Well I have been busy with quite a few things the past few days. Will be finishing an order over the next couple of days as well. It's almost time for final exams again then a well deserved break (from school at least). I realize to make this business work I do have to come out of my comfort zone so I have been working on that and with success it landed me the order that I am working on now. Follow up is key!!

How it all started

I guess it was about 11 years ago I started out making candy wrappers for my kids to take to school for Halloween. I wanted to do something different for them that would get their classmates attention. I made them each a batch of personally wrapped miniatures for their classmates. I did the same for Valentines day as they were really a hit. It didn't dawn on me then to start a business. I was happy being an at home mom and doing special things for my kids. Besides, a business would just complicate things and make it seem more like work (or so I thought at the time). I've always enjoyed crafts and it never ceases to amaze how creative others can be. After being asked to do favors for parties and showers I made the decision to get serious and grow my hobby into a business. Wish me luck!

Yes I'm also a student...

I made the decision about almost 2 years ago to become a student. Unfortunately, like some students do I believe I will never actually work in the field of study that I have chosen. I much prefer having my own business and am considering taking some business courses and perhaps changing my area of study...we shall see. Class this afternoon, then its back to the real business at hand.
